To provide expertise, strategic leadership and guidance on private investment for sustainable economic growth and development.

Functions

This Division will perform the following functions:-

To develop, review and monitor implementation of private investment policy, strategies, plans and programs;
To coordinate provision of a sound and predictable private investment environment in the country;
To develop, review and monitor implementation of foreign direct investment policy, legal and regulatory frameworks;
To oversee all matters pertaining to investment and projects executed by the private sector in collaboration with other ministries;
To provide advice on the matters pertaining to investment in collaboration with private sector in all sectors;
To coordinate the effective participation of Tanzania in Bilateral, Regional and International investment initiatives;
To coordinate and facilitate identification and promotion of investment opportunities for foreign investors;
To develop special intervention to support local investors to partner with foreign investors through establishment of Joint Ventures (JVs) and other relevant vehicles; and
To coordinate and monitor performance of promotion and facilitation of private sector investment;
To coordinate and monitor performance of Special Economic Zones initiatives;
To coordinate matters of general policy affecting private own Enterprises; and
To provide assistance and support in mitigating investment issues to private investors.

This Division will be led by a Director and will have two (2) Sections as follows:-
